Job Title: 2x Band B Information Centre Administrator Posts (21 Bloomsbury Street London WC1)

Salary Range: £18,260 – £21,964 (Based on experience, Full-time/Job share basis)

Companies House is an Executive Agency of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform employing over 1,100 people and responsible for incorporating and dissolving companies under the Companies Act and related legislation.

Main Team Role:

The London Information Centre of Companies House allows customers to access a vast range of company information. The Centre also processes company formations, changes of company name and re-registrations for customers requiring a same-day service. The Centre aims to give a high quality service to all its customers.  

Role of advertised post within team:

  • Assisting customers in the use of computer-based technology to access company information
  • Explaining in detail the products and services available to customers
  • Dealing with public enquiries by phone or in person.
  • Providing assistance to customers using microfiche readers/printers and other equipment
  • Assisting customers to comply with statutory requirements for filing company information
  • Carrying out same-day Companies House incorporations, changes of company names and re-registrations
  • Carrying out cashier and banking duties as required and be aware of security procedures of safe keys

  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining positive and organised
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Reasonable level of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability and willingness to learn and impart technical information
  • Ability to deal with a number of people and tasks at the same time
  • Flexible approach towards work
  • Ability to produce high quality work within agreed deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel and the ability to use e-mail

Desirable

  • Experience of working as part of a team aimed at achieving common objectives
  • Willingness to share knowledge and information with other team members
  • Ability to liaise with other Companies House departments to obtain expert advise when required
  • Willingness to accept change and play an active part in implementing it

Advantageous

  • Experience of cashiering and banking procedures
  • Fluency in foreign languages
