Time is running out – Accounts filing deadline
31 December 2012
Over 300,000 registered companies must file their accounts no later than Monday 31 December 2012. If you are one of them, don’t leave it to the last minute and risk a penalty – file early and file online.
Don’t delay - file online today
File your accounts online before the New Year’s Eve deadline and enjoy the peace of mind that they have been received and registered. Our WebFiling service will send you an email confirming their receipt and another confirming their registration
Filing accounts online can take as little as 15 minutes from start to finish, so why bother with paper, envelopes, covering letters and the added uncertainty over whether the accounts will be delivered on time.
File online - avoid rejections
File your accounts online and avoid rejections using in-built checks to be sure your accounts meet requirements.
Submitted accounts may require manual checks that are only carried out during office hours. It could be too late to avoid a penalty if your accounts are rejected and need re-submitting. File online well in advance of the New Year’s Eve deadline to allow plenty of time to deal with a rejection should it occur.

Note: Our online services are available 24/7, but check that your company is registered for WebFiling and the accounts you wish to file are enabled on the service. You will need a company authentication code to file online, so please allow time for its delivery by post to the company’s registered office address. Online filing of accounts is not yet available for LLPs, while Limited by Guarantee companies can only file dormant (never traded) accounts via WebFiling.
Document Delivery
If you have to file your accounts on paper, it’s still worthwhile filing them early using a guaranteed next day delivery service. Due to the high volumes of post being handled by Royal Mail and other carriers during the holiday period, we would advise customers to allow adequate time for delivery of accounts – and receipt of authentication code requests.
Only the Cardiff Office will be manned for the receipt of paper documents for the entire holiday period. Accounts have to be delivered to Companies House on or by the due date. Delays in transit will not be accepted as excuses for late delivery and even if accounts are delivered a day late a penalty will be levied.
Our London office has moved from Bloomsbury Street – please see details of our
new London Office address. Please note, the Bloomsbury Street address has no mail forwarding facilities and Companies House does not accept responsibility for mail delivered to that address.
